Surprise! I am pregnant...with PURPOSE. Ha! You did not really believe I was having a child, I am sure! Lol! BUT, my baby IS on the way. Let me explain...
This past week was a bit of a roller coaster. I am a part of a new business in Downtown Dayton, Ohio called The District Market. The grand opening was last weekend. It was an amazing event with lots of press, plenty of customers and a good amount of sales! I love the location, the other ladies that have businesses in the market and actually having a regular place for my products - books, planners, journals. mugs and of course my COFFEE - to reside. God opened this door for me very soon after the door of working a 9 to 5 closed for me. I know it was Him. You cannot tell me anything different. He knows just how to get my attention!
While this new business venture is wonderful, I know that it is temporary. When my time is up in the market, another fabulous entrepreneur will have a chance to spread their wings as well! But until then I am looking forward to growing my customer base and trying out new items on my shelves.
Now I know you still want to hear about the BABY, but I needed to tell you how the "pregnancy" is going. This is the time before my dream is birthed. All of the work and sacrifice that goes into ensuring my baby is well prepared to survive this journey. We have to talk about the nurturing that is needed to bring this new life into the world! Like I said, this past week was a bit trying for business and personal reasons, but I know God is still orchestrating my path. Preparing me for next steps. I know this because I had a dream - a literal DREAM the other night that I indeed was pregnant! I woke with the immediate need to text my adult children and ask if anyone had anything to tell me! (LOL!) But instead I decided to look up my dream's meaning and this is the first thing that Google provided:
"Pregnancy dreams are typically connected to something else in your life that is in a growing and development phase. Plans that are in the works...that will, when it comes to fruition, result in a new life for you." -Lauri Loewenberg
All I could say was WOW!! I laughed about my initial response (blaming my kids), and then began to thank God for what is on the way! Listen, if you have your own "baby" gestating, believe that what is for you will come to pass. Lean into the your purpose. Trust the path that God places before you. And BELIEVE in yourself and your dream. It will be WORK. But when you begin living the new life that YOUR baby will bring, it will all be worth it. I am on a journey to owning my own brick and mortar business and I know that will not be easy. When those doors open and my baby is born, it is going to feel fantastic! So until then, I will nourish this pregnancy, with hard work, focus and lots of creativity. I am looking forward to a marvelous grand opening one day and I hope you will be there to share the moment!
Love and blessings,
Dachell
